And I Won't Be Denied By You, The Animal Inside of You

Hello again!  Sorry for the lack of outfit posts this past week, with graduation (YEA!) and enjoying my first week of freedom in a long time, I honestly wasn't in the mood to put on anything cute worth taking pictures of!

But I've been dying to write a post about this new pair of shoes I've acquired.  You know how you go shopping and you see something you like, yet you're not quite sure you want to buy it fearing it might just end up being an "impulse" buy?  Well, that's how I felt about these shoes, yet for some reason I couldn't get them out of my head--I first saw them about 2 months ago, and fell in love with them, but their $99 price tag convinced me that I should wait.  Yet every time I walked through Macy's, there they were, staring at me, calling my name.  Well, after much deliberation, and a few extra dollars won at the casino, I decided to purchase them.  Here's a little insider scoop--if there's something you like, yet don't really like the price, search around other stores or websites you know might sell the same product.  I ended up finding these almost 50% off on Younkers.com, and after searching for further coupons online, got them down to $38, while they were still listed at full price at Macy's.

And I have to admit, I LOVE these heels!  They're funky, extremely tall (sorry Andy!), and probably one of the most comfortable wedges I've ever walked in.  I am slightly fearful of twisting an ankle, but I guess that's the chance I'll take for these amazing shoes!

Best/Worst of the Met Ball

I look forward to the Met Ball every year.  Although I love watching the red carpet during awards season, it's few and far between that any actress takes a huge risk with their fashion assemble.  Everyone stays pretty much inside the lines, and the few that venture outside still stay in the "fashionably acceptable" range.  Yet at the Met Ball, those who stay safe are in the minority--and I LOVE THAT!  This is one of my favorite fashion events because this is when you see the most bizarre, avant garde dresses.  So here's my take on the best and worst of the Met Ball

My Favorites:

Beyonce in Givenchy Haute Couture
You can't deny B's got a gorgeous body, and this dress leaves just the right amount of imagination.  Plus, I love a dress with feathers!
Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren Collection
I love the color, the plunging neckline, and the lipstick color.  It adds just the right amount of class to the dress.

Carey Mulligan in Prada
Is it gold?  Is it silver?  I know this dress kind of screams "fish scales", but there's no denying it's gorgeous!
Christina Ricci in Thakoon
Christina is known for her "out there" fashion at the ball, so this dress is no surprise.  There's something just right about this.

Diane Kruger in Prada
It's purple and has feathers--enough said!
Emma Stone in Lanvin
She's just so damn cute, how could you not love this dress?  Apparently it's waterproof too--double plus!
Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan
I love the detailing on this dress, as well as the cascading train and the neckline.
Rooney Mara in Givenchy Haute Couture
I love Rooney, she can do no wrong.  And you all know my obsession with black lace--beautiful!

And my "Not so" Favorites:

Jessica Chastain in Louis Vuitton
This is a beautiful dress and Jessica is a beautiful woman, but this dress does absolutely nothing for
her figure.
Chloe Sevigny in Miu Miu
I feel like she should be dancing up on stage, next to a pole as a go-go dancer.  On a plus side, if anyone needed to touch up their make-up, no need to go to the bathroom, just use one of Chloe's mirrors!
Florence Welch in Alexander McQueen
I don't exactly hate this dress, but love it or hate it, you have to admit, no one besides Florence would be able to pull this off--Kudos!
Kristin Stewart in Balenciaga
"Sneaker" heels, a pleather "flag" skirt and Tetris top....um, not so much.  But hey, at least she's smiling!
Lily Collins in Valentino
This is a little too "Little House on the Prairie" for my taste...
Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino
SJP, I love you, but why????!

In The Heat Of Summer Sunshine

The past couple of days of sunshine and heat have come out of nowhere--and it's been the perfect excuse to break out the summer clothing!  What I look for in summer clothing is something that's light material, and very flowy, because there's nothing worse than clothing sticking to you because of sweat--yuck!  I love that feeling of clothing blowing in the wind, reminds me of twirling around when I was little.  I used to hate wearing dresses when I was younger, and now they've become my go-to fashion item all summer long!

Here's yesterday's outfit:

Dress: Forever 21
Belt: Forever 21
Bracelets: Simply Vera, Buckle
Heels: Simply Vera (Kohls)
Sunglasses: Ray Ban

And here's today's outfit:
I bought this skirt last summer at Buffalo Exchange, before the whole "sheer print" trend came about (not that I'm saying I'm ahead of fashion...I just liked the skirt, and then it "happened" to become popular!).  But I've seen this trend a lot in stores (especially at Forever 21).  It's great for summer, because, like I said before, it's a flowing fabric, which will keep you cool during these hot summer months.

Jacket: American Eagle
Tank: Forever 21
Skirt/Belt: Buffalo Exchange
Heels: Cynthia Vincent for Target
Necklaces: AE, vintage
Sunglasses: Ray Ban
Rings: Tiffany
