Here's my best "Out of happy" face:
Sometimes, you just have to get angry to make yourself feel better--yell at someone, scream into a pillow, punch a wall--whatever you have to do to release the stress. My extreme stress reliever is running. When I am so upset that I'm literally shaking, nothing else can calm me down besides going for a long run. I also tend to pick fights with people--I don't know why I do this, but I've noticed this trait in me for some time now--apparently when I'm mad or upset about one thing, I need to get mad at something else completely unrelated--for that, I'm sorry (You know who you are :( ) I've calmed down a little today, and when I found "Bluebird of happiness", it made me smile and feel a little better.
Continuing with vintage week, today's pick is another sweater from Goodwill. I purchased this one last year, and although I wasn't quite sure it was 'fashionable' at the time, I've worn it with pride, and many fashion magazines have actually reinforced it's acceptance back into the "fashion world".
I found this calf-length sweater with the tags still on (a rare, but exciting find, because then you know it was never worn before). I saw that the tag said the retail price was $150 (WOW!), and Goodwill was selling it for $4--so yes, I was definitely purchasing this sweater. The tag on the inside said "Free People", so when I got home, I did a little research and found this is a pretty well-known fashion line (http://www.freepeople.com/). And while I could never afford their clothing at full-price (at least not on a grad student's salary), I was happy to have found this gem for, well, next to nothing.
This is the perfect lazy sweater--I wear it with jeans, with sweats, even with gym shorts (at home, lounging around mind you!); it's light, yet warm, and very comfortable. It rare that you find high-fashion pieces at Goodwill, but if you're ever lucky enough, I would suggest snatching them up!

Well...apparently, it was NOT a good day to NOT wear a jacket...because I missed the bus, and had to walk home. It dropped to about 32° by the time I started walking, so it was a cold walk home. Lesson learned, even if I think it looks ridiculous--if it's cold out, wear a jacket with this sweater, or you'll most likely regret it!
Me--trying to be sad about freezing my ass off on the walk home--I look more disgusted though for some reason--Ahahaha! |
At least it was a pretty sunset on the way home |
