~ Vintage Week ~

Going along with my "theme weeks" theme, I've decided this week is going to be devoted to sharing with you all some of my favorite "vintage" finds.  Now, I define vintage as pretty much anything I did not buy from a department store.  This may not be what vintage actually is, but I don't care--it's my definition and I'm sticking to it!

Today's first vintage find is a sweater I found at Goodwill. I like to frequent Goodwill occasionally, usually when I'm bored, need a break, or in a creative mood.  It's always great for old t-shirts and sweatshirts (will feature those later this week), but when I have nothing but time, I love to browse the racks and just see what catches my eye.  Sometimes, you actually can find really nice stuff.

This sweater I found a couple of months ago, and usually I would never wear something like this, but it reminded me of something I would wear while cozying up next to the fire place at a ski lodge, and it intrigued me.  It was only $5, so I went for it.  It's actually a 100% wool, from J Crew (and I know NOTHING from J Crew is ever cheap), so I figured this was a good buy.

A similar-style sweater is available on their website now, retailing at $99.99 (orig. $148)--I would call this a good find!

I've actually grown quite attached to this sweater--it's big, bulky, warm and cozy--and great either dressed up with heels or dressed down with Uggs.

Sweater: Vintage (Goodwill)
Jeans: Express
Earrings: Kenneth Cole
Sunglasses: Marshalls
Rings: Hobby Lobby, Vintage
Heels: Old Navy
My second vintage find of the day is a ring I bought from Kelly's Consignments in Okemos, MI.  I was just browsing the jewelry cases, and this one caught my eye.  It was the day before my birthday, and I figured since this is my birthstone, I had to get myself a little birthday present :)

It's in no way real, but it wouldn't matter if it was--I always say you fall in love with a piece of jewelry the moment you see it--yes, I'm a believer in 'love at first sight' with jewelry (men--not so much)!  But it's true, I usually don't second guess jewelry, if it attracts me upon first sighting, I know I'll love it forever!
