"What do you want for Christmas?"
"I don't want anything for Christmas"
"Ugh..."
This goes on for a couple of months, until we both usually give in and give each other some ideas. Now, I will admit (and I don't like admitting much!), but I am usually the one that gives the least ideas. I don't do this on purpose in order to be difficult..I do it because I love the idea of someone getting me a gift because they think it's something I will love, not because I told them to get me it. I love getting thoughtful gifts for people, and I just always want someone to figure out something creative for me. And I know this is probably completely a girl thing, but I know I've definitely said I don't want anything, while secretly thinking in my head EXACTLY what I want, and hoping he'll somehow read my mind and get it for me--it's completely bullshit and just another way girls are crazy, but, I'll admit, I've been guilty of this!
So, why am I talking about Christmas in February? Well, because I received one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever gotten before--it so perfectly fit me, and means so much to me, because I know it came from the heart. A little background: As you all know, I love vintage stuff--so last Thanksgiving, while out in Las Vegas, I wanted to visit one of the largest vintage stores in the city: The Attic (http://atticvintage.com/). It's a pretty...well...I'll describe it as a "unique place", in an extremely bad part of town, but it was fun to look around. Anyways, while there, I was looking at buying a vintage clutch (one of my weaknesses), when I noticed it was torn on the inside, so I decided not to purchase it. And honestly, I never really thought about it after we left.
This brings us to last Christmas , when I go to open my gifts from Andy, and what does he get me? A vintage clutch that he went back and purchased from The Attic. The fact that he knew this is something that I would love, and (literally) risked his life going back down there, meant so much to me! I don't know if he truly knew how much I love this gift--so hopefully this post will show him <3
So my vintage piece for the day is my clutch:
