"Work Week" Cont.

Continuing on with my attempt to help Jenna vamp up her work wardrobe--by the way, she's trying to become a teacher--I'm so proud of her and KNOW she is going to make a FANTASTIC one!  Today's outfit deals with another problem young women may have with their closet when trying to put together work outfits:

Problem #3: So many of my clothes are for "Going Out" only--how can I incorporate them into an acceptable outfit?
Solution: Take individual "going out" pieces and try to dress them down.

I still have a lot of my college outfits, which make me sad, because every time I see them, I think about going dancing and drinking at the Cactus with all my friends.  I miss the days where super short skirts or dresses and high heels were perfectly acceptable outfit options!  Such as:

Me and J (Last "College" Cactus Night)
Jenna, Chloe, and I :)

No way would these outfits (by themselves) EVER be acceptable in the workplace, but with the right additions, anything could work.

Today I took a short lace shirt, a perfect "going out" skirt, and show how you can wear it in the workplace.  Instead of wearing it with a cute little tank-top, I added an off-the-shoulder sweater (but can be worn many different ways), tights and heeled boots.  By covering up most of your skin, it takes away any inappropriate aspect the skirt may have had before, and adds a bit of class to the overall outfit.  I would also recommend wearing any short skirt you may have with a basic t and them a "grandfather cardigan"--this is what I call a slouchy sweater--think Mr. Rogers :)

Sweater: MODA International (from Victoria's Secret); Skirt: Urban Outfitters; Tights: Gap; Boots: Kohls

And, because you all know how much I love jewelry, here's what I paired with today's outfit:
I didn't want to add any necklaces or bracelets, because I wanted to keep the simplicity of the outfit.  But that doesn't mean I can't go crazy with rings!!

And two you've seen before: London ring and Mr. Tiger
